Electrical Engineer

  • Development of high-voltage battery pack
  • Development of electric vehicle integration strategy for high voltage electrical systems 
  • Define power generation, management, and storage architecture 
  • Define CAN architecture and integrate vehicle communication systems 
  • Work on wiring and connector requirements to support harness builds 
  • Source hardware such as sensors, actuators, controllers, motors, energy storage etc.  
  • Work with suppliers to ensure performance and timing expectations are met 
  • Design, build, and use test bench setups for system testing and validation 
  • Build internal hardware and software tools to improve quality and efficiency
  • Process and analyze test data and provide analysis, insight, and feedback for development 
  • Assist in vehicle system modeling and simulation in simulation tools 
  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.   
    Masters in Engineering a plus 
  • Experience working in structured engineering process including definition of requirements and objective function, concept creation, market analysis for components, analyzing options, and making final engineering decisions. 
  • 2+ years relevant electric or hybrid vehicle work experience required  
  • Experience with wiring harness design and design for manufacturing required. 
  • Hands-on wiring harness build and installation experience a plus 
  • Experience with PCB design, layout, and manufacturing a plus 
  • Experience with modeling and simulation of vehicle electrical systems using MATLAB/Simulink or other simulation tools a plus 
  • Experience with vehicle controller software rapid prototyping software tools (OpenECU, Raptor,  
    Motohawk, CANape, CANalyzer, etc) a plus  
  • Experience working in Agile project management environment a plus 
  • Experience with version control software a plus 
  • Knowledge of and experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, PLC,  
    RS485, SPI, Wireless 802.11, DSRC etc. required 
  • Student design team and individual project experience a plus 

Buyer

  • Develop and identify potential suppliers, analyze supplier capabilities, review bids, select suppliers and determine prices, terms and conditions of agreements
  • Create supplier relationships and assess performance for pricing, quality and logistics.
  • Analyze and manage BOM, engineering changes, and supplier selection and need for alternative sources
  • Manage purchase requisition and ordering process and send out RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs
  • Meet deadlines to assure a successful prototype and production launch
  • Ensure NDA’s, SOW’s and Terms and Conditions are positioned appropriately before business is initiated
  • Drive price negotiations processes to ensure that the pricing is best in class
  • Support all areas of supplier evaluation & selection, supply chain management including business plans, pricing analysis, quality, timing and procurement support
  • Monitor current technologies and identify supply/demand challenges and supplier consolidation opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with management to meet an upcoming production launch and support commercial functions by providing material cost information to the team
  • Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry experience
  • Purchase prototype and production materials, ER&D, tooling, equipment, consumables and misc. items
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of automotive experience
  • Knowledge of electric vehicles and systems strongly recommended
  • Strong Automotive Tier 1 supplier experience and connections
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • SAP or equivalent experience a plus

Vehicle Controls Engineer

  • Lead the vehicle controls software development team 
  • Design and build the vehicle controls software architecture from the ground up 
  • Design and test vehicle controls algorithms 
  • Design, build, and test component and sub-system test fixtures 
  • Design and implement a vehicle controls test plan 
  • Assist in the selection of vehicle controllers 
  • Work with suppliers to define and implement communication interfaces 
  • Define the vehicle networking architecture 
  • Troubleshoot vehicle controls issues throughout the duration of testing and production 
  • Grow the vehicle controls and dynamics group as the company grows
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineer, or related field 
  • Desire and ability to work in fast-paced, self-directed work environment 
  • 2+ years of experience working on vehicle control software design and integration 
  • Experience with in-vehicle software development and testing 
  • Experience with model-based software design in Simulink 
  • Experience with vehicle dynamics modeling and simulation in MATLAB/Simulink 
  • Knowledge of automotive communication protocols including CAN, LIN, isoSPI, etc… 
  • Knowledge of and experience with version control software (GIT, SVN, etc…) 
  • Student team and project experience a plus 
  • Experience with high voltage systems a plus 
  • Experience with production software development and testing a plus

Thermal Engineer

  • Fully develop new design concepts from idea to implementation on vehicle  
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to assigned tasks in the design, development, analysis and release of products and subsystems 
  • Verify design using analysis and or functional testing, interpret results, drive decisions, and assess risk 
  • Responsible for accuracy of detail drawings directly or as collaboration with designers 
  • Identify and assess possible suppliers for production of products 
  • Support vehicle prototype builds as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required 
  • 5+ years relevant direct automotive work experience required  
  • 2+ years working experience with EV technology 
  • Work closely with other EV systems team and understand fundamentals of EV thermal, battery, powertrain and charging requirements 
  • Substantial background in designing complex parts required 
  • Working knowledge of Solidworks and Solidworks Simulation tools 
  • GD&T, dimensional tolerance stack-ups and experience with engineering standards required 
  • Ability to contribute in all vehicle systems by using knowledge in thermal, materials, and hydraulic disciplines required 
  • Experience in specific systems such as Sub System and Complete Vehicle Thermal, HVAC, Heating and Cooling Battery Pack, Charging preferred 
  • Creative, innovative, decisive, and prone to action 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • High level of people skills, able to work in a team environment 
  • Participation in SAE Collegiate Design Series highly preferred 
  • Microsoft software including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint

Office Manager

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the office  
  • Assist all teams on various projects
  • Order supplies and maintain overall office order
  • Help answer the door and receive / ship packages
  • Help plan business trips for the staff and make reservations
  • Have a big interest in truck and car stuff 
  • Assist the marketing team on social media postings / comments
